How it works
Effort vs. result
Compares volume (effort) against the resulting price spread. A high-effort bar that produces little progress flags institutional absorption.
Springs & upthrusts
Detects Wyckoff Spring (false breakdown) and Upthrust (false breakout) shakeouts — the moves that trap breakout traders before reversing.
Re-test validation
Confirms the trap with a controlled re-test of the shakeout level before signalling, filtering one-off spikes.
